Raleigh History

February 2012.

Great to see Gerry's Dublin Chopper completed.
2012 is Our 10th Year and we want to mark it in style.

We had a call from
A new documentary is being made about Raleigh here in Ireland.

For those of you who would like to know about Raleigh
I have added the
Raleigh History

Featuring the Chopper it will be filmed in Early February and will feature
Jackie Murphy who will give the history of Raleigh from Hanover Quay.
Then a cycle around Dublin on Choppers,
The filming is planned for Tuesday 7th
and as with everything else we do.. fingers crossed for the Weather.

Again I am getting a lot of people looking for Chopper parts,

Apart from a few fellow enthusiasts with Mk2 odds and ends, good quality parts are in short supply.
If you have a Mk1 which is missing parts, the UK is your best source,
Join the customcycles forum and post in the wanted section.
Prices for mk1 parts remain high so unless the rest of the bike is in very good condition it may be cost prohibitive.

Future Club Meets will be moving to the Polo Grounds in the Park.

Dave's find

Kelloggs 100th anniversary advert.

The Add is set in the 70's and extremely well produced, only thing is they used a Mk3!!

Everything is authentic, Clothes, hairstyles etc.

Even looks like it was filmed on a cini-camera.

The add cuts to the present day and there is the Mk3 in the shed. So our hero takes it out for a spin!

This add and much more will be featured on our forthcoming DVD complilation

Billing 06' June Bank Holiday Weekend.

For anyone who missed
the Kells find story...
here is the
ultimate NOS Chopper find.

St Patrick's Day 2007.

Once again we won the award for most entertaining float!! with our soundsystem pumping out 70's rock!!

Jimmy Stagg with John Hughes..
Jimmy is in the gorilla suit!!

Well done to all the Club members who made such a massive effort to dress-up despite
the miserable weather.

Well its taken a few weeks but the DVD is finally ready to roll.

Its short only 5 mins as it contains the Chopper snippits I had on VHS from the past few years.

It contains The Kelloggs add.
Living in the 70's piece on the Chopper and Satitude's rate it or slate it from 2004.

Anyone who wants a copy email me.
Its available for the cost of the disk and postage

(which is essentially free)

The amazing Kells Chopper Find.

Needless to say a bargin was not to be had on this occassion. Thanks to the Irish Independent artice below Dom was in no doubt he was sitting on a fortune. He had a value of €2000 Euro in his mind and we put a true value of between €500 and €600 on each Chopper.

Competition from July 1973
